Beautiful Weekend & Beautiful Moments

{cupcakes from grandma's birthday celebration}

Happy late Sunday evening!

The weekends was a little mix of everything - busyness, relaxation, chaos, reminiscing with friends, celebrating life and way to many calories consumed! This morning I finished reading NieNie's book Heaven is Here -- she's so inspiring and such a beautiful person. How silly is it that I am actually sad that I finished the book - I wish it would keep going, good thing there is her blog to follow along with!

In recent weekends I have completely ignored my inbox - and it's been beautiful. But then Monday comes around and I have a rude awakening as I try to wade through everything. So thankful that I will have a day off tomorrow to slowly wade back into the week.

*yawn*

Please excuse me as I go climb into bed and hopefully sleep past 7am *wishful dreaming*.

Paging Through

There is nothing better than curling up & paging through a book. I always find myself attracted to the book area of every store. I constantly have a book list several deep. Below are a few books I'm waiting to read. As I'm a glutton for punishment leave a comment with something you think I should check out.

Book Club?

I am very excited about this. Jenna over at That Wife is starting a book club, head on over if you would like a chance to vote on what book they will be reading first.

Friday Favorites: Written Words

For the Love of the Written Word

{Magazines}

Those beautiful glossy pages make me swoon. They tempt me every time I am in a store, those beautiful pages, pretty things everywhere for the eyes to see, perfect pictures, tempting food. What is not to like?

I just noticed while browsing the magazines in Barnes & Nobel that they are not importing & selling magazines from the U.K. How awesome is that? The British version of Food Network, or of InStyle. I would love to see what people across the pond are cooking, loving and buying, talk about finding new things!

{Books}
Books. I have a ton of you. I am always looking for something new to read, I constantly have a long list of books I want to look up, buy offline, and check out from the library.

I just went to the library... wanna peek and see what I picked up?

For Real? (Revisiting Twilight)

The real reason behind the Twilight Prequel - You really must try to understand the sick obsession.

While I was looking at Washington trip information myself & Curly Locks (also a Twilight lover and partaker on the WA trip) were looking at a Washington Map and stumbled upon some interesting information. La Push, Port Angeles, and Forks are all REAL places. And I will be just a short distance away from them while I am in Washington on my trip! As tourism goes Washington has of course totally capitalized on the craze and free publicity that Stephanie Meyers has created with the Twilight Saga and has a lot of stuff out there on Twilight - Washington Style. Check THIS out.

Curly Locks did go a bit crazy when she realized how close we would be. Especially since we are hoping to visit Olympic National Park.

There is also a Quileute River I believe (which if you know your Twilight Quileute is the Indian Tribe that Jacob is a part of and that lives in La Push on the reservation). It turns out Stephanie Meyers is not quite as imaginative as I once thought she was.

Will we be partaking on a self made Washington/Twilight tour while we are visiting? Probably not but it is still quite interesting.

Prequel: The Sickness

I hate to admit this but I was caught up in the facination of TWILIGHT. That's right.

I swore I would never read it -> fast forward to Christmas and what would I receive in the mail from my lovely SM? The first Twilight book with a WRITTEN note in the front cover to me (and boy was that note good!). What was I to do? SM who had been trying to get me hooked for MONTHS on the books just sent me this book in the mail. SO I picked it up read it. I was HOOKED.

Then I SWORE I would never spend money on any part of the Twilight Saga, I would borrow the remaining books, rent them from the library anything but spend money on them... Think again! I BOUGHT book number 2 and number 3 and will be buying book 4 (the last) in August (when it comes in soft cover - because ya know I need the entire collection).

So I was hooked, I went back on my solemn promise to myself about #1 reading them, and then #2 spending money on them. My last FEEBLE attempt at trying to control myself was not to purchase the movies. The movies are total crap (but I'm addicted anyway). The acting by Robert Patterson and Kristen Stewart are not so great, really. And so far I have not spent money on purchasing them... I did rent Twilight from the library for 50 cents a day 2 or 3 times. Does that really have to count?

But then I shared the sickness :) I got my mom hooked and SHE bought the second video because she couldn't wait to see it... If you can't beat them join them right and share the disease?

If you check the title of this post it's just the "Prequel" unfortunately this story gets better, or worse you judge. It's really gotten out of hand.

This is one of my FAVORITE cook books.
I love it for several reasons
1. The way it's laid out
2. The knowledge & insight that Warren gives you from his experiences
3. The cakes always turn out well that I make, and the fillings are AMAZING
4. There are classic recipes, but also unique ones.
LOVE THAT
