Epic Disappointment

For a long time now I have had the desire to read the classics. The beautiful words and stories that were created & written years & years ago. Stories that now even in the 21st century people still read and fall in love with.

On the top of my (imaginary) book list were Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights.

I finally checked out Wuthering Heights - the book & the DVD - from the library. Gosh do I love the library! In my attempt to get myself past the first few pages I popped in the DVD, cozied up with a fuzzy blanket and sat back with the intentions to fall madly deeply in love.

Boy was I absolutely wrong. I'm not sure now how I could have heard so many good things about this book. All I saw was hate, jealousy, insanity, and darkness. Full of disappointment I promptly returned the DVD & the book to the library ready to get it far, far away from me. Absurdly I still have a Wuthering Heights copy on my book shelf. Don't ask me why I borrowed two copies for the library, I'm just a glutton for punishment I guess.
