One of the reasons I love Minnesota and living here is because of of all of the amazing events & attractions that happen year round. As I said in this post - winter {for some strange reason} is my favorite season to explore Minnesota.
Last week on a cold blustery Minnesota day {we're talking 1 degree with a windchill of -17 here folks} a few friends and I went and explored the Ice Castles at Mall of America.
We ended the evening with hot chocolate from bucks.
It was not worth the money for the length of time I spent in there. I wish it was a few $ cheaper and I wish i would have explored more. But honestly there isn't much to it for the cost of admission.
I am not sure it's worth the money unless you were going to be there over 20 minutes. I enjoyed the experience but I paid $11 and tried my hardest but I didn't last longer that 20 minutes. I saw the ice castles and walked through them but not sure I 'experienced' them like I wished I would have - especially for $11.
Absolutely beautiful! I'm glad you took these, sounds like they may have started melting by now so when/if we ever get there, it probably won't look nearly as good! :)
I briefly saw those driving by, when I was in the area last month. I thought then, that I need to bring my son to see them and then forgot about it. I'm so glad you shared these pictures!
Looks like a fun ice castle, did you think it was worth the $?

DeleteWe about froze our butts off when we went too!!! But it was soooo pretty! Made me feel like a little kid exploring through the castles! :)
ReplyDeleteIt was so much fun! Wish it would have been warmer and I had stayed there longer!
DeleteI've had mixed reviews on the ice castles this year - what are your thoughts? Worth the money taking a 5 and 8 year old?
