Why Hello Monday

A few days ago I cracked open a book that I received at Christmas... it's a five year plan book. I was interested in the book since it was highly recommended and came from a great friend. As I was paging through the book I came across a page about TGIM, Thank God It's Monday.

I'm not sure about you but I rarely think that way on Monday.
Rarely.

Intrigued I read on.  The book pointed out that millions of people dread Mondays and how that is a ridiculous way to spend one-seventh of your life - dreading a Monday. In the next five years you will receive 260 different Mondays, each one a new fresh day full of promises, possibilities and excitement. Why shouldn't we anticipate Mondays as so many of us anticipate Fridays?

This is a new thought for me, as I'm sure it is a bit foreign for the rest of the general public. But from this day forward I am going to try and enjoy Mondays, look at them with anticipation, excitement and joy.

What will Monday bring?

  1. I don't dread Mondays as much as I dread Sunday. Weird, right? Most all day Sunday all I can think about is going back to work and everything I have to do to prepare for it. Icky!

    1. That is funny that you dread Sunday more. It is hard to let the weekend go on Sunday and begin thinking about Monday and all of the to dos.

  2. i dread different days of the week for different reasons - most of them lame reasons now that i think about it. :) but once that day gets here i realize it's not so bad after all.

p.s. my old psych prof. from college used to say "Welcome to Monday - the Day of Possibility"!

    1. Oh ASB. You do love Mondays - and basically every day I think. You are so positive and that is one of the many reasons I love you and call you my friend!

I love your Dear Monday link ups Megan. I have been a bit off the band wagon the last two weeks but they really are fun. It helps me reflect on the weekend and gear up for the week. Here is to bringing Monday back into people's good graces!

  5. I used to dread Mondays until I quit my job. Now I write from home and the days sort of blend together. Much nicer. Wouldn't it be great if we all had jobs that we were excited about?

  6. Wednesdays have traditionally been the worst day of my week. Its supposed to be the peak of the week with everyone rolling towards the TGIF. I however have found Wednesdays to the pits. Usually nothing goes right and it seems to drag on and on and on. This week though suprised me. Friday was so terrible I couldn't do anything other then shake my head and laugh...otherwise I'd probably crawl in a corner and eat my hair or worse, cry. Luckily, I knew it would come to an end. I just couldn't keep saying, "Things can only get better, right?" Because that was never true...I somehow found a way to keep suprising myself and everyone else around me. So long story over. I am looking forward to Monday. Furthest work day from Friday!
