Revisiting the Resolutions

Originally one of my resolutions was Experiencing and Exploring the Twin Cities. And was explained as such:

"Other than the 5 years I was away at college I have always lived here. The Twin Cities has beautiful parks, art museums, wonderful festivals and is just brimming with culture. There are many places I have never visited, or experience. And there are many places that I have visited and experienced but at a younger age and don't remember or did not appreciate the way I would right now as an adult."
When I originally wrote this I wanted to mainly focus on places I had not been to in the Twin Cities area, or had not experienced for a long time/as an adult. But after much thought I have decided to alter and expand the resolution to encompass more. The main focus of the resolution has been to explore more of the Twin Cities - to get out and discover and experience. So that means even though I may have been to say the State Fair before - attending this year is still considered another way for me to achieve my resolution or goal you could say to Experience and Explore this great and wonderful state I live it. I will also consider places out of the Great Twin Cities area as part of my exploration but as some of those places may take several hours drive they are not as easy to come by.

From hence my resolution will be explained and seen as this:

"Other than the 5 years I was away at college I have always lived in Minnesota. The Twin Cities has beautiful parks, art museums, wonderful festivals and is just brimming with culture. But I have realized that I don't always use the resources that are avaliable to me and see everything there is to see. But I have realized that I have not always seen everything there is to see in this great state, especially in the Twin Cities, things that are just down the road from me. This year I will strive to explore and experiencing as much as I can in this great state, mainly focusing on the Twin Cities & Greater Twin Cities area, but any place in Minnesota state lines is fare game. Some of these places I may have never visited, and other places I may visit and explore yearly but either way my goal is to get out and explore and walk all over Minnesota. At the end of this year I will be able to truly say that I am a true blue* blooded Minnesotan."

With summer on it's way look for more exploring of this great state. Within a couple of days you should see several posts about a couple places I have visited recently. Two of which I had NEVER been to!

*Blue Blooded because it's cold 70% of the time, so we got to be able to handle the cold right?

  1. You have a great resolution. It's going to be very fun participating in what the Twin Cities have to offer. We have gotten to a lot of local stuff since we got married, because I had to show him all the fun places and events here!

  2. p.s. I recommend "Art in Bloom" - it's April 29 through May 2 at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. It's free. This is its 27th year and I only found out about it a few years ago! Visit artsmia.org/art-in-bloom.
